The Protest Voters

Following my last blog; "Don't laugh at UKIP, they call the police" in which I shared the video "Great Harwood Opposes UKIP", that had cost me a visit from the police, I feel it only right to follow up on the amount of people shocked about the level UKIP will go to try and silence people.

"Freedom of speech" is something that many preach about on both sides of the right and left winged flightless face of politics but neither side wants to be ridiculed by the other nor listen to the other's views as to remain in the best interests of a nation. That is the beauty of a democracy, no one can be 100% correct and a medium has to be found through discussion, argument and sometimes ridicule. Both sides eager to expose the scandal of the other and most is done in good sport, politics generally puts you in positions you are uneasy with but that is your job and you are there to work through such problems.

The increase in UKIP either using the police or finding support from the likes of Britain First is an authoratarian way to go about the campaign, sad really that the members of the right wing groups take such offence at somebody laughing at them... Think things are bad now? Imagine if these right wing groups had any sort of real power!

Where is it all leading?

With the general election fast approaching and the likes of the BBC and other large news corporations pushing the right wing rhetoric, yes it might look like ridicule of Nigel Farage and his cronies but it is mere advertisement that is well played out. Whilst any left wing politicians (I don't mean Labour... I.e. Red Tories) fails to secure a proportion of the airtime on any of the main media channels. Leading more voters down the path of UKIP, but will that be the true voting demographic as a whole? No, the majority remainder of voters will be strong die hard Tories, leaving two main parties in the running for the country; Conservatives and UKIP...

Now for those who don't know Nigel Farage is an ex Tory banker with a part in Natexis Metals, a French company with a $1.7Bn profit turn over each year. He had headed UKIP since before it began to claim to be the party for "every man" and wore it's true elitist Eaton boy colours... Founded by Tories and still containing a big Tory backing, sound like a party for the "every man" now?

I would not simply go out of my way to condemn any TRUE revolution in politics if that was what it truly was but I cannot simply sit back and watch duped fools think that the answer can be found with right wing agenda... It only serves those that impose the policies, legislators do not work for the public, even though the wages do come from the fruits of people's labour (taxes). The point of how far these wannabe UKIP candidates will go when you laugh at them coupled with the threat of them gaining seats is quite frankly frightening.

I will not try and sway people's vote as that is their own but I would like people to actually read into what you will vote for... If your vote is a protest towards Lib/Lab/Con then another set of Cons will not help. Vote for a party without a chance, don't look back in years to come and think "I am part of this problem, I helped fuel the war machine" because you can bet under a Con/Kip government the wars will continue, public services will still be sold and the rise of racial and social hatred is a given.

Please think, please learn and if you do vote then vote well in the General Election.

The video that earned me a visit from the plod...

I have watched the rise of UKIP for sometime and never saw much support in Lancashire as their original message and political stance stood by that of the 2010 manifesto, a business ideology that appealed to the large business owner/corporations. But with the haste to hide that old message of business over people as UKIP claw for the protest vote of the "every man" the growing rise of this political faction has been more than noticeable.

I originally knocked on the door of Ian Robinson (running candidate for UKIP in Great Harwood) to express my concern about UKIP and the implied policies (no manifesto) they had. The conversation lasted a good 20 minutes and stayed civilized throughout, ended with Ian inviting me to the UKIP youth meeting at McDonald's in Accrington the following day... which I attended but had to leave as the UKIP youth leader arrived over 45 mins late.

Both times my van was with me and obviously my opposition had been controversial and what must have been felt like a threat to the UKIP campaign, with someone recording my registration number.

Later that day I spotted a UKIP sign that had been defaced and I made this video;
   Great Harwood Opposes UKIP
I merely laugh at the defacement of this propaganda, I took no part in damaging this sign as I have no interest in breaking the law... only documenting other people's reactions to UKIP. (I have found out this one sign has been replaced 9 times... Speaks volumes really).

Anyway it had been a couple of weeks of not seeing or hearing anything, when the police arrived...

"There has been an allegation made against you of criminal damage"

Well I had no idea what this related to until the constable notified me it was a "UKIP" sign, I laughed at first and asked if there was any evidence and apparently "my" van had been seen near other UKIP signs... Ok, so a WHITE VAN has been spotted near some signs? What?

I had also been given a "warning" not to approach the UKIP group... Hang on, if they are out in public and I happen to be in that public place.... "Don't bother them", If by bother you mean speak to them... which is all I have ever done then you can forget it, If anything it only wants me to step up a gear and expose the moronic nonsense these individuals are pushing into the fear filled minds of people who are sick of the Lib/Lab/Con rhetoric.

Phoning the police because I laughed at something someone else did... Makes all comedians outlaws!

So that is that, I won't say what's next... but stay tuned.
